| The Tijeras Open-Air Arts Market, (TOAAM) is a juried arts and crafts event held each Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer. Located just seven miles east of Albuquerque, the market is adjacent to Just Imagine Gallery & Coffee House in Tijeras. |
| Our mission is to provide an affordable quality venue where artisans can regularly exhibit and sell their work directly to an expanded customer base for a reasonable cost, in a lovely artist-friendly setting. |
| We are working to provide a farmer’s market in another area on the grounds to increase the ambiance and draw. We anticipate the attraction of not only local patrons, but tourists seeking a unique cultural experience. |
| Just Imagine Gallery, located in Tijeras since 1989, occupies two scenic acres along historical Route 66, gateway to the Turquoise Trail. We’re told that this site was once the Tijeras Fort, & that the traditional adobe building that houses the gallery, and the rock wall surrounding the property, date back to the civil war. |
| The TOAAM features a wide range of quality work primarily by New Mexican artisans, including handcrafted furniture, jewelry, beadwork, photography, wood turnings, chimes, stained glass, sculpture, ceramics, paintings, mixed media, metal work, and more. Additionally, we have an area where wholesale/retail jewelry and bead supplies are sold Friday-Sunday. |
| Live music brings the market alive while patrons stroll the grounds, or sit and enjoy the ambiance and an espresso drink. |
| This year’s advertising campaign is both aggressive and extensive. Along with display ads in many major publications including Albuquerque Arts and local papers, we are listed on line with many Calendars of Events. We have had ads running on 770 KKOB radio during drive time, and we do a direct mailing about every three weeks to our proven in-house mailing list. We also have freeway signs showing exits, and directional signs. |
| Market hours are from 10am-5pm Saturday & Sunday, May-October. You may exhibit one weekend, or several, however, space is limited. Booth fees start at $75 per weekend, or $80 per weekend for a shared space. The daily rate is $40, available only when space permits. To share a booth on a daily basis, the fee is $25 per person. |
